The Rolling Stones and Hollywood Stars Join 12-12-12 Performers

The Sandy Relief Concert will feature 18 of the world's biggest stars in addition to a stellar musical line-up.

 

The Rolling Stones will join the long list of famous performers at the 12-12-12 Sandy benefit concert, its producers announced today. Along with The Stones, 18 Hollywood stars have announced their participation in the universal event, to be broadcast world wide. 

The producers of 12-12-12- announced Friday that Steve Buscemi, Jessica Chastain, Chelsea Clinton, Sean Combs, Billy Crystal, Leo DiCaprio, Jimmy Fallon, Jake Gyllenhaal, Karlie Kloss, Seth Meyers, Bobby Moynihan, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, Susan Sarandon, Jon Stewart, Kristen Stewart, Quentin Tarantino, and Brian Williams will participate at Madison Square Garden on December 12, 2012 to show their support for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Tommy Hilfiger has also generously agreed to donate t-shirts as part of the merchandise offerings for “12-12-12”. Many of the celebrities involved will also be on- hand to lend their star power and participate in a telethon during the “12-12-12” telecast. “12- 12-12” is presented by Chase and all proceeds will benefit the Robin Hood Relief Fund.

Event producers James Dolan, John Sykes and Harvey Weinstein issued the following joint statement:

“We are incredibly grateful to the numerous entertainers and celebrities who have graciously donated their time and talent to be a part of this unprecedented fundraising effort. It will be a special and memorable evening televised around the globe to ensure we can raise the most donations possible for victims of Hurricane Sandy.”

Beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the start of the live concert, a phone bank will be set-up where musical artists and celebrity participants will take donations via phone over the course of the evening. Viewers from around the world will have the opportunity to call-in to help donate to the Robin Hood Relief Fund and assist those throughout the tri-state area who have been impacted by the storm.

“12-12-12”, which will be distributed worldwide to nearly two billion people through television feeds, radio and online streaming and will be distributed across networks and feeds in North and South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia.

Clear Channel Media and Entertainment will broadcast the concert live on its radio stations across the country, and will also video stream live on iHeartRadio, Clear Channel’s digital radio service, and across the websites and Facebook pages of its 850 stations. In addition, the concert will also stream live across several major online video providers, as well as being streamed and promoted by several digital media partners.

The concert will also air in conjunction with the NBA’s television and online streaming broadcasts in China and simulcast live on Clear Channel Outdoor digital billboards in Times Square, New York City and locations in London and Paris.

The all-star musical lineup includes Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton, Dave Grohl, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, Chris Martin, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, Eddie Vedder, Roger Waters, Kanye West, The Who and Paul McCartney.

The concert is being produced by James Dolan, Executive Chairman of The Madison Square Garden Company; John Sykes, President of Clear Channel Entertainment Enterprises; and Harvey Weinstein, Co-Founder and Chairman of The Weinstein Company.

Thanks to the generosity of concert organizers, sponsors, and Robin Hood’s board of directors, every single penny from ticket purchases and donations will go to serve the victims of Hurricane Sandy through the Robin Hood Relief Fund.The Robin Hood Relief Fund provides money, material and know-how to local organizations that are serving families and individuals in the regions hardest hit by the storm.
