Join Jennifer Homans, former professional ballet dancer turned historian, critic and best-selling author of Apollo's Angel's for an afternoon to discuss her book. In Apollo’s Angels, she traces the evolution of technique, choreography, and performance, drawing readers into the intricacies of the art with vivid descriptions of dances and the artists who made them. Her book is a groundbreaking work—the first cultural history of ballet ever written.
Dance critic for The New Republic, she holds a B.A. from Columbia University and a Ph.D. in modern European history from New York University. She is a distinguished scholar in residence at New York University, where she teaches the history of dance.
