Greenwich Has Got Talent Audition Dates

Audition dates for the third annual Greenwich Has Got Talent Variety Show have been announced. The Greenwich Chamber of Commerce event will take on a new twist this year as there will be competition resulting in a Grand Prize Winner.
Auditions will be held Monday, January 30 from 6-9 PM at Cole Auditorium at the Greenwich Library and Tuesday, January 31 from 6-9 PM at the Byram Shubert Library, 21 Mead Avenue, Greenwich. Maria Kelly Stevens will once again serve as Artistic Director and Producer of the variety show which features family friendly entertainment by adults and youth from the community.  Channel 7 Eyewitness News Senior Meteorologist Bill Evans and Chamber Chairman of the Board Jeff Weber will serve as emcees at the production which will be held Saturday March 31 at Greenwich High School.
A portion of the proceeds funds a scholarship for a GHS student who will major in business in the fall.
Last year's recipient was Dillon Novakowski.
"We're excited to add a new dimension to the event this year that will provide for competition among the participants," said Weber who also co-chairs Greenwich Has Got Talent.
"Those in attendance will actually be the ones voting and determining our winner," he added. Co-Chairs of the variety show are Leah Reeves and Scott Weiner. Reeves commented, "Each year the show takes the level of entertainment up another notch.  There is so much great talent in our community and this is an excellent showcase for it." Weiner added that "there may just be a couple of surprises this year as well.  That's what makes this such a fun event!"

Audition slots are limited so performers are urged to contact Stevens via email: MKstevens@GreenwichChamber.com

Chamber Executive Director Marcia O'Kane commented: "All acts are encouraged to attend.  Whether you're a singer, dancer, comedian or musician, there's room for your type of talent at our show." Appearing in past shows have been area notables such as Congressman Jim Himes, State Senator Scott Frantz and First Selectman Peter Tesei.
