Session three of our book club will discuss Molly’s Pilgrim. Assigned to make a Pilgrim doll for a Thanksgiving project, young Jewish-Russian Molly brings in — to her embarrassment — more of a Babushka doll.
She and her classmates will learn that “pilgrims” come in different stripes and colors. Barbara Cohen’s modern classic bagged a Sidney Taylor Book Award and inspired an Academy Award-winning short film.
