Join Patch for the Old Greenwich First Light Celebration

The Old Greenwich Merchants Association will transform the village into a pedestrian thoroughfare to ring in the holiday season on Dec. 1.

What are you doing Saturday night?

Head to the village of Old Greenwich to get a jumpstart on the holiday season. From 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, merchants in the Sound Beach Avenue area will open their doors for the annual Old Greenwich First Light Festival.

In partnership with the Greenwich social services agency Family Centers, the Old Greenwich Merchants Association will begin the evening with the lighting of hundreds of luminaries along the Binney Park walkways.

The festive evening will include extended shopping hours in the stores, horse-drawn carriage rides, holiday carolers and musicians, holiday treats given away by merchants as well as wine tastings. Meet Greenwich Patch staff members at Upper Crust Bagels, where free Patch gear will be available for revelers.

There also will be a tribute at the Sound Beach Volunteer Fire Department for the town's first responders for their tireless efforts in preparation for, during and after Hurricane Sandy.

Seems to me you are missing the most obvious which is shown in the photo used at the top ofRead More Greenwich Patch pages - Grass Island Marina/Park is directly across the waterway. You won't be able to see much of the stage front but you can certainly enjoy the tunes.
