Small Gas Price Drop in Connecticut, National Average Up

The price per gallon remains well above the $4 mark.

The national gas price average went up in the past week, but Connecticut’s price per gallon dropped two and a half cents to $4.09 according to ConnecticutGasPrices.com

While many states in the U.S. saw declines in prices, the national average went up due to skyrocketing prices in California, where gas averages $4.49 a gallon. The prices climbed so high that some gas stations shut down, according to NPR.

“Thanks largely due to the situation in California, the national average rose slightly in the last week,” said Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst at GasBuddy.com, the parent company of ConnecticutGasPrices.com.

He added, “The good news for Californians is to expect relief this week. Around the rest of the nation I expect a mixed bag, with prices not moving significantly in either direction from what I can see at this time. Nationally, prices remain much higher than last year, especially in California, where the average now stands 88c/gal higher than a year ago.”

It remains unseen what motorists in Greenwich will see in terms of prices where the average price for regular is hovering around the $4.40 per gallon mark. The cheapest gas is at Tee's Putnam Service Station on the Greenwich/Port Chester border at $4.05.

Seems to me you are missing the most obvious which is shown in the photo used at the top ofRead More Greenwich Patch pages - Grass Island Marina/Park is directly across the waterway. You won't be able to see much of the stage front but you can certainly enjoy the tunes.
