A MAN OF INTEGRITY...DAVE THEIS

Integrity is something money can not buy; you have it or you don't.

Look in the dictionary under the word integrity and you will see a picture of Dave Theis.

Our "Second" Selectman for the past four years, Dave is running for re-election this fall.  He has earned my respect and I hope he lands a Selectman slot once again.

I have been a member of the Cos Cob Fire Police Patrol for the past several years and one thing I look forward to each year is seeing Dave at the Cos Cob Volunteer Fire Company's Inspection Dinner.

Dave is one of the honored guests and "inspects" the volunteers before dinner and the ceremonies.

Every year Dave proudly wears his Dad's figherfigher's badge and recites
how as a child he remembers coming to the firehouse, proudly, with his father.

Besides being a firm supporter of our town's first responders, both volunteer and paid staff, Dave is also a demonstrative, passionate American citizen.

The American flags flying proudly on the Post Road at the Mianus River bridge crossing between Cos Cob and Riverside....Dave's idea and energy made that happen.

Working with his fellow members of the Board of Selectman, Dave has been an integral part of the team effort that has worked so well; yet he has spoken his mind when he diagrees with his partners.  He is a man of principle.

Community spirit?  Dave has come to be known for his passion for the community, be it the long overdue rennovation of the nursing home; to
fund raising campaigns I hit him up for all the time, be it for education, the volunteers and many other community projects.

Dave always returns calls, he thinks on his feet and generous with his thoughts.  He is eager to make Greenwich an even better place to live and work then it already is.

All of the above spell INTEGRITY since Dave's sincerity and all the things he does are for me being done with a great spirit and good heart.

Dave and I have stood on "opposite" side of the Democrat/Republican divide; but never on opposite sides when it comes to being honest with one another and trying our best to serve the community.

I hope to have the opportunity to work with Dave on many more public service projects.  He is my friend.

To all of who can make it happen, let's give Dave the opportunity to serve Greenwich for another term.  He has earned it.
