Invisalign Travel Tips

Some helpful tips on traveling with Invisalign, and how to keep your aligners safe!

As many know, Invisalign is the clear, easy way to straighten your teeth. Many choose Invisalign because not only are the aligners virtually invisible, they’re also much easier to care for and more accommodating than traditional metal braces. At Riverside Orthodontics, we understand that Invisalign treatment simply works with your lifestyle.

If you’ve chosen Ivisalign as your orthodontic treatment, have you ever considered what you would do if something happened to your aligners while you were on vacation or away from home on business? What if an aligner broke, you left one behind somewhere, or one were lost? It’s something to think about, and here at Riverside Orthodontics we’ve put together some tips for traveling with Invisalign.

  • Get into the habit of bringing not only your current set of aligners, but also your previous set and your next set with you. Depending on how long you’ve been wearing your current set will determine whether you should switch to your previous or next set. Either way, it’s a simple way to be prepared in case something happens to your current set of aligners.
  • Remember to carry your aligners in your purse of carry-on bag if you’re going to be flying anywhere. Storing your aligners in with your other baggage is risky, as it can be delayed or lost.
  • Bring an extra case with you. If you happen to forget your case at a hotel or restaurant, you’ll have an extra one handy!
  • When traveling, it’s not always easy to brush your teeth after eating. You should make sure to rinse out your mouth and your Invisalign aligners after each meal, though.

Invisalign is a great alternative to metal braces for many teens and adults. If you’ve opted for Invisalign treatment, be sure to follow the tips list above when traveling.
