Patch Picks: Great Local Summer Camps for Kids
Summer's just around the corner. And for kids who can't wait to play outdoors (or inside air-conditioned studios), we found five great local summer camps. Check them out and sign up quickly – the best camps fill up fast!
- at : Kids and teens can explore dozens of interests at ESF camps. The Greenwich location, which offers three types of day camp, is situated on the 32-acre campus of Greenwich Academy. A typical day might include arts and crafts, martial arts, archery and instructional swimming. Check out this on Saturday!
- LinguaKids: This space for foreign-language lessons for children offers camp in its Darien and Larchmont, N.Y., locations each summer from mid-June till the end of August. In addition to one-, two- or three-hour immersion programs in French, Spanish and Chinese, camp activities include hopscotch, twister, arts, crafts, and dance class.
- Camp Hand-in-Hand: A day camp for 6- to 9-year-olds nestled on the 12-acre setting of in New Canaan, Camp Hand-in-Hand is dedicated to broadening the cultural experiences of children of all socioeconomic backgrounds through fun outdoor and indoor activities.
- : This Greenwich day camp for boys and girls ages 3 to 13 offers loads of activities, from sporty games (basketball, baseball, tennis, archery, and floor hockey) to creative activities (arts and crafts, drama, digital photography.
- Weekly Ceramic Art Camp: Children ages 8 and up learn pottery in a professional studio, working with the potter’s wheel and sculpting tools, at this half-day camp in Stamford.
