Letter: BET's Goldrick 'A Forceful, Steadfast Democratic Voice'

To the Editor:

I strongly support Sean Goldrick for another term on the Greenwich Board of Estimate and Taxation (BET).

Sean has been a forceful and steadfast Democratic voice for adequately funding local town services and infrastructure needs.  Whether it’s his vocal support for MISA, the reconstruction of the Byram pool and  the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center, or the long overdue dredging of Binney Pond, Sean recognizes that long term investments in facilities that benefit all town residents are not mere “spending” items.  They are an essential part of what makes living in Greenwich special.

Sean supports a rational system for funding these projects that capitalizes on near record low interest rates, and relieves the pressure on current taxpayers in shouldering the costs of these projects.

Sean has been a strong advocate for reforming our town’s underperforming pension fund, and a stern critic of the “austerity forever” approach favored by town Republicans.  He is on record for properly funding school maintenance, and not letting our local schools slide into disrepair.

On November 5th, I will be casting my vote for Sean Goldrick for BET.  I urge you to vote for Sean, and the rest of the Democratic BET slate.
