Letter: Novakowski Has 'Dedication, Principles' To Be Greenwich Tax Collector

To the editor;

I write today in enthusiastic support of my husband, Rick Novakowski for Tax Collector!  You may say, “Well of course she does, it’s her husband.”  But I can write endlessly and give you so many other reasons why I support his candidacy.

Rick and I, like our parents and grandparents, have spent almost all of our lives living in this town that we love so much.  We’ve had to live a little more humbly in raising our children here than we might have had to somewhere else, but the quality of life and priorities we’ve been able to instill living in Greenwich have made that decision one we are proud of.

Rick and I have most enjoyed doing what we can to make this town a little better for everyone else.  While that has always involved quite a bit of sacrifice and some time consuming hard work, giving back is a labor of love that has given us a reward far greater than that sacrifice.  Our four children, two of which are still in Greenwich schools, have given my husband and I the opportunity, through the PTA to be involved in so many school involved ventures, especially our years at Cos Cob School, which is where I met him when we both attended, over forty years ago!

Over the last couple of months I have watched my husband immerse himself in this campaign.  Countless hours of town meetings, meetings with other towns’ Tax Collectors, talking with neighbors at various events or at their door.  While I’d love for him to be home more, I know that going into something half-way, has never been Rick’s way.  I know that Rick’s hard work in campaigning for this office will transcend into that office after he is elected.  And my children and I are quite happy to share his time with this town that our family has called home for four generations. 

Let’s vote for hard work, dedication, principles, and accountability…Let’s vote for my husband, Rick Novakowski for Tax Collector on November 5th!
