I am pleased to endorse Peter Sherr, a longtime resident of Greenwich with three children in the public schools, for re-election to the Board of Education.
As a member of the RTM Budget Overview Committee, I have worked with Peter over the years and believe he is a fiscally responsible leader concerned for the children as well as the taxpayer. I have found Peter to be an excellent listener, very knowledgeable and prepared with the facts, and willing to pursue innovative and pragmatic solutions.
Greenwich schools are at a critical juncture on numerous fronts. Peter’s continuity on the board is essential. Do we really want to repeat the initiatives that have tried and failed in the past? Without Peter, there would be no one on the Board with the intimate knowledge and experience of past board decisions—both the strengths and the weaknesses. Peter’s voice of reason, candor, openness, and fiscal acumen is needed more than ever.
