OGRCC Girls Basketball League Registration

2013-14 GIRLS BASKETBALL WINTER LEAGUE FOR GRADES 2-8

The league will run from the week of November 18th through the March 8th  Championship Game. Team selection, practice times and game schedules will be finalized and disseminated prior to the first practice. Times and locations are subject to change during the season and OGRCC will notify promptly of any issues. The League fee is $195 per player.

There will be a mandatory coaches’ meeting on Thursday November 14th between 7:15-8:15 PM at the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center. Volunteer coaches needed please indicate interest at registration.There will be a 1-hour coaches’ clinic presented by Hi-Rise Basketball on Saturday November 23rd at ISD from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. We strongly encourage all coaches to attend this clinic.

Second and Third Grade Division

One, 1-1.5 hour, weekday practice on Monday or Tuesday nights sometime between 5-8 PM at the International School at Dundee (ISD), beginning on November 18th and 19th.

One game a weekend on Sundays at ISD between 8:30-11:30 AM, beginning on November 24th. The first game will be a scrimmage to ensure proper team balance. 

Fourth and Fifth Grade Division

One, 1-hour, weekday practice on Wednesday nights sometime between 6-9 PM at Eastern Middle School (EMS) with the exception of the first practice.  The first practice will be on November 20th at the International School at Dundee (ISD). All other season practices will be at EMS beginning December 4th.

One game a weekend mostly on Saturdays at the International School at Dundee (ISD) between 3:00 and 9:00 PM. There may be occasional games held on Sundays at ISD between 4:00 and 8:00 PM as necessary. The first games begin on the weekend of November 23rd and November 24th and will consist of scrimmages to ensure proper team balance.              

Sixth through Eighth Grade Division

One, 1-hour, weekday practice on Thursday nights sometime between 5-8 PM at the International School at Dundee (ISD), beginning on November 21st.

One game a weekend mostly on Sundays at ISD between 4:00 and 8:00 PM. There may be an occasional game on Saturdays between 3-8 PM at ISD as necessary. The first games begin on the weekend of November 23rd and November 24th and will consist of scrimmages to ensure proper team balance.

Teams in this division will be coached by Greenwich High School Girls Varsity players. However, back-up parent volunteers are needed for each team. Please indicate interest when registering. There will be a mandatory coaches’ meeting on Thursday November 14th between 7:15-8:15 PM at the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center.
