Stamford Police To Host Fundraiser for Sergeant Fighting Cancer

Members of the Stamford Police Department will come together to host a benefit for a 28-year department veteran who was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 lung, brain and bone cancer.

On Dec. 10, members of the Stamford Police Association will host a benefit for Sgt. Terri Vitti at Zodie's 19th Hole, located at 451 Stillwater Ave. in Stamford. For $25, there will be live music from Jump the Gunn, along with drink specials and food provided.

"Sergeant Terri Vitti has dedicated so much of her life to serving and protecting the people of Stamford," said Officer David Rodriguez, a coordinator of the event. "She has long been a rock of support for her fellow officers and a true role model. Now as she battles cancer, Stamford’s police officers are rallying to lend our collective strength to her and her husband, also a veteran Stamford Police Officer. We ask our fellow community members to turn out on December 10 and lend her your best wishes and support."
