Brunswick School Donates Holiday Dinners to Family Centers

Brunswick School students are giving back to the community to help those in need.

According to Family Centers' Director of Community Engagement Jennifer Flatow, “Family Centers is not in the business of food collection or distribution, but this time of year we certainly roll up our sleeves and do our best to help our neighbors in need. We have been fortunate to have been partnering with Brunswick School for the past five years for a Thanksgiving basket drive and this year they donated 40 complete meals to us."

With the increased need in the area, Family Centers also have partnered with WR Berkley, Bimbo Bakeries USA, Morgan Stanley and CrossFit of Stamford to provide additional meals. "In total, we hope to feed 100 families this year for Thanksgiving," Flatow said.

The dinners are packaged and delivered to families by the Family Centers staff and board of directors.

Flatow also said, "While it’s heartwarming to see so many people wanting to help with food donations at the holidays, my goal is to impress upon them that many families struggle long after the holiday hoopla has passed, so keep them in mind as you grocery shop all throughout the year.”
