Pinkberry Verdict

Okay, so when Pinkberry initially opened, I admit I did blackball their existence despite the two-block line down the ave and the free ice cream givaway incentive ...and their adorable pink interior. And I did a pretty good job of resisting (and by resisting I do mean walking on the opposite side of the street) for a solid two months. But tonight I caved — I wanted to know what the big woop with Pinkberry is.

First of all, the all white and minimalist ambiance feels like you stepped onto the set of The Jetson's but with a splash of pink here and there, the chilly vibe was strangely welcoming. I admit that the crowds of teens lingering outside PB was somewhat intimidating – after all they knew how to order from the PB menu and I didn't. But that didn't stop me. Waltzing in and examining the set up it was clear that Pinkberry is basically the ice cream version of Chipotle. You pick one of eight (give or take) flavors then toppings and then you are done. A small watermelon fro-yo (fro yo=frozen yogurt, obvi) and minus $6 later I am still on the fence!! And no, the fact that their logo colors match mine perfectly has NOTHING to do with it.
