Frances G. Manzella, 89, Worked for Greenwich Churches

Calling hours are scheduled for Friday evening, with funeral set for Saturday.

Frances G. Manzella, a former employee of two Greenwich churches and the Electrolux Corp., passed away on Jan. 20, 2013.

She was born in Greenwich on July 22, 1923 to the late Joseph G. and Alfreda (Dytrych) Glinka.

Frances was predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, Victor J. Manzella Sr. on Feb. 24, 2002.

She is survived by her daughter Madeline Kearns (Frank), and her son Victor (Randy), and grandchildren Sean Kearns, and Maureen Gormley (Eric). In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Margaret Locke, Mary Glinka, and Irene Pennella, as well as her brothers, Adam Glinka, Henry Glinka, and William Glinka.

In addition to raising her family, Frances was employed by the Electrolux Corp. in Old Greenwich, and worked in the parishes of St. Michael the Archangel and St. Catherine of Siena in town. She was active in Glenville Seniors and Greenwich AARP. Frances enjoyed genealogy, taking photographs, and assembling albums related to her family heritage and Greenwich memorabilia.

Family and friends may visit at the Castiglione Funeral Home, Inc., 134 Hamilton Avenue from 4 to 8 p.m.. Friday, Jan. 25.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26,  at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Riverside. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Greenwich.
