Greenwich Obituary: Audrey H. Facius, 83; Former Cos Cob Resident


Audrey H. Facius, a former Cos Cob resident, passed away on April 23, 2013 in Bridgeport Hospital. She was 83.

Audrey was predeceased by her parents, Arnold and Olga Magnuson Facius.  Born and raised in Middletown, Audrey graduated from Syracuse University, and was a resident of New York City for many years.

She moved to Cos Cob in 1981, and more recently to Stratford. A retired professional fundraiser, Audrey worked on numerous successful capital campaigns and grant writing projects for a host of organizations including New York Medical Center, New York Library, Greenwich Library, and the American Cancer Society.

While she lived in New York City, Audrey was an active member of the Blue Hill Troupe Theater Company. She was a second mother to her nieces and nephews, often sending care packages, taking them on travel adventures, and always being available to listen and guide as needed. She was a wonderful role model, and will be dearly missed by her family.

Her memory will be cherished as the loving aunt to Nina Arrigo, and her husband, Joseph, of Fairfield, Robin Weissman, and her husband, Terry, of Illinois, Christopher Barry, and his wife, Anna, of New Jersey, Michael Barry, of Illinois; and their families. She was predeceased by her sister, Lois Barry.

She will also be fondly remembered by several dear friends and fellow members of Stanwich Congregational Church.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 26, in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., in Fairfield Center, with Rev. Joan Osgood officiating. Her interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, in Middletown.
