Ida Roberto, 85; Lifelong Greenwich Resident Who Was a LifeSavers Employee

A service is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 27.


Ida M. Roberto, passed away on Thursday Dec. 19, 2013 at Greenwich Hospital. She was 85.

A lifelong resident of Greenwich, she was the daughter of the late Louise and Anthony Roberto.

Ida retired in the mid-1980s after working for more than 30 years at Lifesavers in Port Chester, NY. Recently, Ida lived at The Nathaniel Witherell nursing home in Greenwich where she enjoyed visiting the salon to get her hair done, playing bingo and having outside barbeques. 

She is survived by her grandson Ryan Roberto of Port Chester NY; her sister, Mary (Roberto) Oliver of Norwalk, her brother Anthony "Tut" Roberto and her great-grandchildren Jennifer and Joseph Roberto..

In addition to her parents, was predeceased by her brothers Nick, Angelo, Joseph, Jerry and Larry Roberto, and aister Dorothy Washburn.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at St Mary's Cemetery, 399 North St., Greenwich.

Arrangements are by the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch St., Greenwich.
