Marcia Lynne Rossi, 72; Greenwich Native, Secretary, Volunteer

Visiting hours are Tuesday, Oct. 15, with funeral services scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 16.


Marcia Lynne Rossi, beloved wife of Larry Rossi of Norwalk, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side. She was 72.

She was born on Nov. 10, 1940 in Greenwich and was a daughter to the late Roswell T. and Mabel Gray Potter. 

Marcia graduated Greenwich High School in 1958 and continued her education at Katherine Gibbs. She worked at American Cyanamid, Purdue Frederick. Mrs. Rossi was an active volunteer in the community who shared her time with The Children’s Connection, AmeriCares and the Sons of Italy.

She had a special place in her heart for our Military, managing Adopt-A-Platoon, which is an organization that sends care packages to troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Marcia’s immediate family includes her husband Larry, three loving children- Cynthia DiMaria and her husband Edward of Monroe, Patricia Stack of Wilton and Michael T. Rossi and his wife Bruna of Norwalk, two siblings-Paul T. Potter and Pamela Levine,  six cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Marissa and Jonathan DiMaria, Cassidy Stack, Inva Vuthaj and Michael Rossi Jr.

Marcia’s greatest passion was helping all those around her. She always left those she encountered touched by her kindness and warm, caring smile. 

Marcia loved spending time with her children and grandchildren at the beach, as well as gardening and traveling with her family and friends. Marcia’s crowning achievement in her life was her loving family. “Mom,” “grandma,” “we love and miss you. You are an angel, and will forever rest with our Lord in Heaven.”

Visiting hours are on Tuesday. Oct. 15, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. in Norwalk’s Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall St. in Norwalk. 

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday Oct. 16, 2013 at 9 a.m. directly at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 208 Newtown Ave. Norwalk. 

Interment will follow in Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to; CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd. Branford, CT. Please visit www.norwalkfh.com for more information and to send a condolence to the Rossi Family.
