Obituary: Padraig (Patrick) J. Gannon, Vietnam Veteran and Carpenter


Padraig (Patrick) J. Gannon, a carpenter with Putnam Kitchens, passed away on May 28. He was 73.

He was born in Tubbercurry, Sligo, Ireland on July 29, 1939 to the late Patrick and Rose (Leonard) Gannon. 

Mr. Gannon was a Vietnam Veteran who worked as a carpenter for more than 47 years with St. Charles Kitchens in Pound Ridge, NY, and later with Putnam Kitchens in Greenwich.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brother Frank, and sisters Marion Schlegel and Rosaleen Seevers.

Mr. Gannon is survived by his loving wife, Valerie Marcia (Fletcher) Gannon, and son Kevin, both of Norwalk; a brother, Joseph and a sister, Betty Stinchon of England; nieces Patty of Brooklyn and Kris of Bridgeport, and many nieces and nephews in Ireland. 

Calling hours will be from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, June 2, at The Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 3, in St. Philip Church, Norwalk. Entombment will follow at Willowbrook Cemetery, Westport.
