Susan Klein, 70; Greenwich Resident Who Worked in Real Estate

From Fred D. Knapp & Son Funeral Home.

Susan Klein, 70, of Greenwich, and Palm Beach Gardens, FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 22 after a sudden illness.

Sue (or affectionately Susie) was born to Esther Meyer and Leo Cohan of New York, New York on Oct. 1, 1943.

She is survived by her husband Stanley Klein Jr. whom she married in May 1963 and her three children, Caryn (Shaun Knoll), Kenneth (Alejandra), and Stacey, along with two grandchildren, Kenneth Jr. and Olivia, two step grandchildren, Sarah and Jacob, and her beloved dog Reggie.

A longtime resident of Greenwich, Susie was active in the community and enjoyed spending time with her many circles of close friends. Since retirement from Real Estate, Susie and Stan became residents of Florida. She was an avid collector of many things, and she especially enjoyed her early morning shopping adventures at the Palm Beach Green Market and flea markets.

Susie was a life master bridge player and had diverse interests which allowed her to touch so many people. She had a special passion for family and friends and was a consummate mother, grandmother, and friend to anyone who crossed her path. Her infectious laugh, sense of humor, candor, kindness, love of baking and compassion will be missed.

There will be a memorial service held on Wednesday June 25 at 2 p.m. at Temple Sholom, East Putnam Avenue, Greenwich.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday and Thursday at their home.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that a donation be made in her name to Greenwich Hospital MSICU.
