17-Year-Old Charged with Sex Assault

A 17-year-old Greenwich boy has been arrested on a felony 2nd-degree sexual assault charge, stemming from an incident with a 13-year-old girl.

According to Greenwich Police, investigators obtained an arrest for the unidentified teen who surrendered to police on Friday. Police said a parent of the 13-year-old contacted police. "The investigation revealed that the juvenile male was older than the statuatory limit of three years between himself and the victim when the intercourse occurred. The juvenile male and his parent were interviewed and the juvenile male admitted to having intercourse with the victim," according to a police press release.

The suspect was released in the custody of his parent and scheduled to appear in the Juvenile Matters division of state Superior Court in Stamford. The court date was unavailable.
