2 Face DWI Charges in Weekend Incidents

One suspect charged after Greenwich Police were called to his residence because of his intoxication.

arrested two town residents on drunk driving charges over the weekend including one man who's accused of getting behind the wheel after police were summoned to his residence to calm him.

According to police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray, officers were called to the home of Jose A. Cebanos-Monfil, 21, 383 Greenwich Ave., about 4:30 a.m. to "calm down and separate a couple of highly intoxicated people who were cursing. For some reason he decided to leave." Two officers who had been in the residence, spotted him driving shortly after 5 a.m. March 18 on Railroad Avenue.

Cebanos-Monfil had an odor of alcohol on his breath and bloodshot eyes, and failed sobriety tests, according to a police report. He was released after posting $500 bond and scheduled to appear April 2, in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Another Greenwich man was charged with driving while intoxicated and unsafe movement after a Greenwich Police he was seen crossing the double yellow line on Milbank Avenue and make a wide turn onto East Putnam Avenue about 7:30 p.m. March 17.

The driver was identified as William W. Wilson, 52, who gave an address of 96 Valley Rd., Cos Cob. He was released after posting $250 bond and scheduled to appear April 2 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
