2 Students Arrested for Theft from Greenwich High School Teacher

Greenwich Police: Surveillance camera caught suspects entering classroom where theft occurred.

A surveillance camera at caught images of two students entering and leaving a classroom where the swiping of $37 from a teacher's coat.

The Dec. 16 theft was reported about 9 a.m. After reviewing the video recorded by the school's surveillance system, School Resource Officer Carlos Franco and school administrators questioned the pair. The pair were the only people seen on the video entering and leaving the classroom before the teacher returned to the room, according to a police report. One of the 16-year-olds had $35, the other had $2, according to the report.

Each student — who was not identified because of their age — was issued a juvenile summons charging them with sixth-degree larceny and released on promises to appear Dec. 27 in the Juvenile Matters Division of state Superior Court in Stamford.
