Bagel Shop Employee Faces Charges Following Work Dispute


A man identified by Greenwich Police as a bagel shop employee faces charges following a dispute with a coworker.

According to a police report, there was a verbal dispute between two employees at 6:55 a.m. Aug. 15 at Village Bagels, 375 Greenwich Ave.

Elmoustaf Abdelwawrit, 41, of 10 Coleman St., Bridgeport, was charged with breach of peace, interfering with an officer and violation of a protective order. He is accused of having belligerent and aggressive behavior towards the coworker and pretending to investigating officers that he did not speak English.

The report did not indicate what prompted the dispute.

Abdelwawrit was held on lieu of $2,500 bond and scheduled to appear Aug. 16 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
