Central Greenwich Home Damaged by Fire

Greenwich firefighters extinguished a late night fire on Widgeon Way Monday.

Shortly after 9 p.m. the department was dispatched to 35 Widgeon Way on a report of smoke on the second floor of the home, according to emergency dispatch. Firefighters reported a working fire at 9:06 p.m., and according to dispatches, the occupants of the home already had escaped by the time firefighters arrived.

Crews were still at the scene after 11:30 p.m.
