CT Man Arrested after Striking Telephone Pole, Driving Away Drunk

Greenwich police arrested a 46-year-old Norwich man at 10:40 p.m. Sunday and charged him with driving under the influence.

Simon N. O’Toole of 209 Mopsic Court is accused of driving into a telephone pole on Wessels Place and then trying to drive away, according to a police report.

O’Toole failed field sobriety tests after police stopped him, the report said.

He was additionally cited for failure to drive in a proper lane, distracted driving and failure to obey a stop sign.

O’Toole is scheduled to appear Dec. 2 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
