Drug Possession, Domestic Violence Charges

Greenwich Police narcotics officers armed with a search and seizure warrant, arrested on marijuana possession and risk of injury charges Thursday.

According to a police report, officers executed the warrant at 6 a.m. Thursday at an Armstrong Court apartment.

Carl L. Lawson, 31, of 10 Armstrong Court, was arrested after officers said they seized less than four ounces of marijuana in the apartment, drug paraphernalia. He was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Because a 12-year-old child was in the apartment, Lawson also was charged with risk of injury to a minor.

He was released after posting $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear March 10 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A Church Street West resident was arrested on a variety of charges following an argument with and the assault of his pregnant girlfriend Saturday morning.

According to a Greenwich Police report, Christian J. Rivera, 30, of 19 Church St. West, was arrested on five counts of disorderly conduct; four counts of risk of injury to a minor and one count each of interfering with a 911 call and first-degree assault.

Rivera is accused of smashing a television while the victim’s son was sleeping in the room; assaulted the victim; prevented her from calling 911; and pushed her out of a car as she tried to prevent him from taking her car with his two children in it. The victim complained of knee pain after the incident.

Rivera was held on $10,000 bond and scheduled to appear March 7 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Speeding through the parking lot of the Armstrong Court apartment complex on Hamilton Avenue lead to the arrest of a town man on marijuana possession charges.

According to a Greenwich Police report, Alvaro Lopez, 28, who gave an address of 10 Weaver St., was arrested on a possession of marijuana less than four ounces charge in connection with the 9:15 p.m. incident on Feb. 26. He also was ticketed for unsafe movement. Police said they saw him speeding in the parking lot and when they stopped him, the smell of marijuana was emanating from his car.

He was released on a promise to appear March 14 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A White Plains, NY man was arrested on a marijuana possession charge by Greenwich Police investigating a report of possible drug activity at 2 S. Water St.

Daniel Acevedo, 29, who gave an address of 121 N. Broadway, was charged with possession of marijuana less than four ounces and possession of drug paraphernalia, after officers smelled marijuana coming from his car and found a small amount of the drug.

He was released on a promise to appear March 14 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
