DWI Charge For Woman Who Tried to Kick Greenwich Police

Police say the driver fled the scene of a car crash.

 

A motorist, who Greenwich Police say fled the scene of a car crash, was arrested on several charges including driving while intoxicated.

The 27-year-old woman is accused of leaving the scene of a car accident on Prospect Street in central Greenwich on March 28, according to a police report. Melissa Teelin, 27, of 286 Holt Dr., Pearl River, NY, was stopped by police more than a mile away on West Putnam Avenue and Western Junior Highway.

According to the report, Teelin smelled of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests before her arrest about 7:30 p.m. She was charged with driving while intoxicated, evading responsibility and failure to signal.

Teelin also was charged with interfering with a police officer. "While being placed under arrest, the accused was attempting to kick police officers and attempted to kick out the window of a patrol vehicle," according to the report.

She was released after posting $500 bond and scheduled to appear April 12 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
