Fugitive Wanted by NYPD Arrested in Greenwich

The suspect was wanted on a felony drug charge, according to Greenwich Police.


A Greenwich resident, wanted by New York City Police on a felony drug charge, was arrested by Greenwich Police who went to his home to investigate a report of a fight.

Police went to a home at 10 Weaver St. on a report of a fight in progress about 4:20 a.m. Jan. 18 when the suspect "became agitated, agressive and acted out towards officers," according to a police report.

Police did a background check and discovered that Alexander Gomez-Vasquez, 38, of 10 Weaver St., was wanted by the NYPD on a charge of third-degree possession of narcotics with intent to sell, according to the report. Gomez-Vasquez was arrested on local charges of interfering with officers and disorderly conduct. Bond was set at $10,000 for those charges.

Bond on the New York charges was set at $100,000. Gomez-Vasquez was held in lieu of the bonds and is scheduled to appear Jan. 27 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
