Greenwich Man Faces Larceny Charge

Greenwich Police say the suspect is accused of not returning rental car.

A man is facing a first-degree larceny charge in connection with a rental car that was reported stolen in Norwalk.

Using a license plate reader, Greenwich Police determined that the red Nissan Xterra being driven by  William F. Trudden, 39, of 16 W. Church St., Greenwich, was reported stolen to Norwalk Police on April 8.  Trudden, who was arrested shortly before 2 p.m.April 11 as he drove on East Putnam Avenue nearly Relay Place in Cos Cob, is accused of not returning the rental car “in a timely fashion,” according to a police report.

Trudden was  held in lieu of $25,000 bond and scheduled to appear April 18 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
