Greenwich Police Investigate 2 Home Burglaries

Greenwich Police are investigating the daytime burglaries of two homes in town.

The first theft was reported at 11:35 a.m. Feb. 17 by the resident of an apartment on Hamilton Avenue in the Chickahominy neighborhood of town, according to police. Spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray said the resident returned home to find cash and several video games missing. There weren't any signs of forced entry to the apartment.

A resident of Sheephill Road in the Riverside neighborhood of town came home shortly before 3 p.m. Feb. 17 to find someone had smashed a basement window to gain entry to the home. A jewelry box was reported missing.

While a dollar value wasn't placed on the jewelry, Gray said, "most of the pieces had sentimental value."
