Greenwich Police Investigating Several Thefts

The thefts involve burglaries from homes, a car and businesses.


Greenwich Police are investigating several thefts including construction tools taken from a new home construction site.

Various construction hand tools were reported stolen from a new home construction site in the 200 block of Palmer Hill Road on April 15. The theft of the tools — valued at about $1,000, were reportedly taken sometime overnight from inside the house, according to a police report.

Residents of a Hope Farm Road home reported someone stole various electronic equipment and costume jewelry from the house that was vacant for three months. The residents reported the theft on April 15 after returning home from a winter vacation. There weren't any signs of forced entry, police said.

A resident in the 200 block of Weaver Street reported someone made off with a package delivered and left on the front porch sometime during the morning of April 16. The package contained shoes and a Coach brand wallet, with a total value of about $200.

Police are continuing an investigation into the theft of an unspecified amount of woman's clothing from the Calypso/St. Barth store, 254 Greenwich Ave., that was reported shortly before 2 p.m. April 15.

The theft of a sign for the former Fonda la Paloma Mexican restaurant, 531 Post Rd., was reported on April 16. No value was placed on the sign.

A woman reported that her purse she left in her unlocked car as she played with her children at the Bruce Park playground was stolen sometime around 5 p.m. April 16. The purse contained identification, cash and credit cards.
