Greenwich Police Seize Fake $100's, Make An Arrest

The woman also is accused of having pot in her purse with more fake Benjamins.

A woman using what Greenwich Police determined to be a fake $100 bill to purchase $10 worth of merchandise at a local pharmacy is facing a forgery charge.

According to a police report, staff at the Walgreen's pharmacy, 1333 E. Putnam Ave. in Riverside, called police about 9:15 p.m. March 14 because a customer attempted to use a counterfeit $100 bill to buy merchandise.

When officers arrested Stephany Quintero, 22, of Jackson Heights, NY, they found three additional fake $100 bills in her purse and a small quantity of marijuana. Quintero was charged with first-degree forgery and possession of marijuana less than a half-ounce.

Quintero was unable to post $25,000 bond. She was assigned a March 21 date in state Superior Court in Stamford.
