Hotel Scuffle Injures GPD Lieutenant

A couple's arguments at hotel ends with woman charged with biting a lieutenant; kicking, punching other officers.

 

A Greenwich woman faces multiple charges following an argument at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich during which she allegedly tried to punch, kick and spit at four Greenwich Police officers who were sent to quell the dispute.

According to a Greenwich Police report, the four officers along with the manager and security personnel of the Hyatt Regency Greenwich in Old Greenwich tried to resolve the argument between the suspect and her boyfriend about 5 p.m. July 28. The woman is accused of ignoring officers' orders not to reenter the couple's hotel room.

The woman "refused to obey the orders of the officers and began to charge towards the room. The accused to continue to resist ... the officers and became combative by trying to punch, kick, bite and scrach the officers as they were attempting to handcuff her," according to the report.

Police also said that while they attempted to put her into a patrol car, "she began to spit at the officers so a cravat was placed around her mouth."

Ilona M. Pasternak, 40, of 3 Dale Dr., Greenwich, is accused of biting the arm of Lt. Daniel Allen two times, causing "two puncture lacerations to his right wrist." A police spokesman, Lt. Kraig Gray, could not say whether Allen needed medical treatment for the bite wounds.

Pasternak was charged with one count each of disorderly conduct and assault on a peace officer and four counts of interfering with an officer. Her bond was set at $10,000 and she was scheduled to appear Aug. 6 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
