Man Accused of Ripping Off Doctor's Script Pad & Forging Prescription


A Greenwich man is accused of ripping off a prescription pad from his physician and then forging prescriptions for narcotic medications, according to Greenwich Police.

The man was arrested about 8:45 p.m. Jan. 8 by Greenwich Police who had obtained an arrest warrant charging him with forgery and criminal attempt charges in connection with the theft reported Sept. 19, 2013.

Clay C. Woodruff, 22, of 10 Hillside Dr., Greenwich, was charged with second-degree forgery, criminal attempt at illegal possession of narcotics and criminal attempt at obtaining a controlled substance by forgery.

"A prescription pad was stolen from his physician in town," said police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray. "He attempted to pass a fraudelent script at a local pharmacy."

Woodruff was released after posting $200 bond and is scheduled to appear Jan. 15 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
