Man Caught Loitering on School Grounds


Greenwich Police arrested a New York City man after investigating a report of a "suspicious person trespassing on school property" on Thursday.

According to a Greenwich Police report, the man was found by police on Delavan Avenue at Beech Street and "lied about his name and address" by investigating officers. Police found the suspect's wallet during a pat down, before the man ran towards Mill Street where he was caught by police.

Elmoustaf Abdelouarit, 43, of Ninth Avenue, New York, was charged with interfering with police and loitering on school property, in connection with the Oct. 17 incident reported at 8:23 a.m. at New Lebanon School.

Immigration Customs Enforcement issues a detainer order and  Abdelouarit was held without bond. He was scheduled to appear Oct. 25 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
