Man Faces Fake Prescription Charges

Greenwich Police say they arrested a Montebello, NY man who tried to use a prescription, later deemed to be a fake, to obtain oxycodone from a West Putnam Avenue pharmacy.

According to a Greenwich Police report, Damien A. Rainford, 29, who gave an address of 39 Rose Hill Rd., Montebello, was arrested at the CVS pharmacy at 644 W. Putnam Ave., shortly before 9 p.m., March 30. Rainford is accused having a prescription for the painkiller Oxycodone which a pharmacist found suspicious. He maintained the script was real and that he was getting the prescription for his mother, according to police. Police said the doctor whose name was on the script told them it was fake, as were three other prescriptions Rainford reportedly had.

Rainford was charged with criminal attempt at obtaining a controlled substance by forgery and four counts of second-degree forgery. His bond was set at $250 and he was scheduled to appear April 9 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
