Man Faces Trespass Charge After Incident at Greenwich Club


A man who Greenwich Police say is from New York City is facing trespass and interfering charges following a Jan. 30 incident at the Boys & Girls Club Greenwich.

According to a police report, officer were sent to the club at 4 Horseneck Ln. because "a suspicious man refused to leave after being asked several times by staff." The man told police he was homeless and didn't want to leave the club.

The suspect, identified as Joshua D. Burton, 21, was charged with first-degree criminal trespass and interfering with an officer. According to the report, Burton gave police a false name and said he was from Atlanta, GA., despite having documents with his real identity.

Burton was released after posting $200 bond and is scheduled to appear Feb. 7 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
