McDonnell Sworn in As Greenwich Fire Marshal

Veteran Deputy Greenwich Fire Marshal Shawn McDonnell was sworn in as Fire Marshal in a Greenwich Town Hall ceremony April 30.

The ceremony comes six days after a split Board of Selectmen voted 2-1 to appoint McDonnell to the post. He succeeds James McDonald who retired from the post in March.

McDonnell was appointed despite Fire Chief Peter Siecienski's recommendation that Deputy Fire Marshal Rob Natale, who had been serving as acting fire marshal since McDonald's retirement, be named to the post.

McDonnell and Natale were the top candidates for the post and were separated by just one point after written and oral exams.
