Old Greenwich Teen Charged with DWI

Greenwich Police say the 18-year-old was involved in a car crash on Doubling Road.

An 18-year-old Old Greenwich woman was arrested on driving while intoxicated charge following a car crash late Tuesday on Doubling Road.

Olivia C. Tapsall, who gave an address of 396 Sound Beach Ave., Old Greenwich, was arrested following the 11:45 p.m. crash Dec. 20. did not provide details of the crash but a report said an investigation at the scene "revealed one of the operators, Olivia Tapsall, was operating her vehicle under the influence."

In addition to the DWI charge, Tapsall also was ticketed for unsafe movement. Her bond was set at $250. Details of the crash and whether anyone was injured, were not included in the report.

Police went to an apartment in the Armstrong Court apartment complex on Hamilton Avenue about 5:20 a.m. Dec. 21, where residents told them the suspect had thrown the victim onto a couch, causing her to hit her head on a wall. Genis Jose Contreras, 24, who gave an address of 10 Ann St., Greenwich, was arrested because the victim had an order of protection prohibiting Contreras from contacting her.

He was held in lieu of $2,500 bond and scheduled to appear Dec. 21 in state Superior Court in Stamford. The report did not indicate whether the victim was injured or needed medical treatment.
