A local man faces charges that he entered a private girls school in Greenwich in November and stole a desktop instructional skeleton worth several hundred dollars.

According to Greenwich Police, Lawrence Futie, 50, of Arch Street, Greenwich, surrendered Dec. 2 to police who obtained an arrest warrant charging him with second-degree criminal trespass and sixth-degree larceny.

Futie is accused of entering the Convent of the Sacred Heart School campus at 1177 King St., about 4 p.m., Nov. 9 and "began roaming around the school buildings. Cameras located throughout the school captured his image," according to a police report.

An investigation revealed the skeleton was taken, according to the report.

Futie was released on a written promise to appear Dec. 9 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

The report did not indicate whether the skeleton was recovered.

*Editor's note: this story was updated to correct a reporting error. The missing skeleton was worth several hundred dollars. No cash was taken.
