Suspect Charged Greenwich Car Burglaries

A man from the Bronx, NY faces several burglary and larceny charges stemming from incidents last December at two Greenwich waterfront condominium complexes.

According to a Greenwich Police report, the suspect was picked up Aug. 13 when he appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court. Ramon A. Abreau, 22, of 44 W. 175th St., the Bronx, was named in an arrest warrant charging him with three counts each of second-degree burglary and third-degree burglary, and one count each of criminal mischief and second-degree larceny, in connection with incidents at 630 and 636 Steamboat Rd., according to the report.

Back on Dec. 12, residents reported someone broke into their underground parking garage and stole GPS units, wheels, rims and tires from several cars.

Lt. Robert Berry said the arrest follows "a pretty thorough and lengthy investigation. There might be additional arrests."

Abreu was held in lieu of $100,000 bond and scheduled to appear Aug. 20 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
