Suspects Nabbed for Apple Store Theft

Greenwich Police charge 2 suspects for August theft of electronics from Apple Store on Greenwich Avenue.

Greenwich Police have arrested two suspects in the brazen daytime theft of $10,000 worth of cellphones and laptop computers from the Apple Store on Greenwich Avenue.

One suspect, Dwight A. Collins, 18, of 853 E. 216th St., the Bronx, NY, was arrested Sept. 21, and a 17-year-old New York boy was charged Sept. 20, in connection with the theft. Each were charged with 3rd-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit 3rd-degree larceny and held in lieu of $50,000 bond. They are to appear Sept. 28 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

About an hour before closing on Aug. 14, snatched laptops and phones from a display inside the Apple store at 356 Greenwich Ave.

According to Greenwich Police Capt. Mark Marino, "They ran in and grabbed varioius electronics and fled out of the store," and drove off.
