Teen Is Accused in Greenwich Sex Assaults

An 18-year-old man was arrested this week by Greenwich Police in connection with two sexual assaults involving a Greenwich girl, dating back more than two years ago.

According to a police report, the suspect, whose identity is being withheld because the alleged assaults occurred when he was a juvenile, the assaults took place in 2010 and 2011 on Riversville Road. The incidents were reported on Aug. 5 and police applied for an arrest warrant on Aug. 8, according to the report.

The suspect, whose hometown was not released by police, was arrested on Sept. 16. Police said the victim is a Greenwich resident.

"The (arrest) warrant is sealed because the victim and suspect were juveniles at the time (of the assaults)," according to the report.

The juvenile is being held at the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center until his Sept. 20 appearance in the Juvenile Matters Division of state Superior Court in Stamford.
