Teens Charged with Pot Possession

Roundup of Greenwich Police arrests also includes teens busted on burglary, drug charges.

 

A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the April theft of cash and household items from an Old Orchard Road residence.

The unidentified 17-year-old was arrested July 15. The teen, who was 16 at the time of the theft reported April 7, is charged with second-degree criminal trespass. The teen is accused of attending a party in a home where The cat-feeder apparently invited several teens and young adults to a party in the family's home. During the party a "large amount of cash and household items" were stolen.

Greenwich Police officers investigating the report that three teens were in a car parked on Highview Road and "possibly using narcotics," led to the trio's arrest.

Officers made the arrests of the three 17-year-olds shortly after 10 p.m. July 10, according to a police report released July 18. They are accused of having marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Each was charged with possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Each was released on a promise to appear July 24 in the Juvenile Matters division of state Superior Court in Stamford.

A pair of 16-year-olds was arrested following an argument that turned physical and led to the damage of unspecified household items in the Armstrong Court apartment where the dispute occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m. July 13.

According to a Greenwich Police report, neither teen was injured. Each was charged with disorderly conduct and released on promises to appear July 31 in the Juvenile Matters division of state Superior Court in Stamford. The nature of the argument was not specified in the report.

A teen stopped for a  motor vehicle violation ended up facing a drug possession charge shortly before 9:30 p.m. July 17.

According to a Greenwich Police report, the unidentified teen was stopped for an unspecified motor vehicle charge which escalated after police said they could smell marijuana coming from the car. The teen was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell after he told police there were packages of pot beneath a passenger seat.

Officers find 9 plastic bags of the leafy substance. The teen was released on a promise to appear July 24 in he Juvenile Matters division of state Superior Court in Stamford.

A Stamford man was arrested on an evading responsibility charge in connection with an April 5 motor vehicle crash.

William H. Mimms, 52, of 16 Forest St., Stamford, was charged by Greenwich Police who obtained an arrest warrant. Mimms was held in lieu of $250 bond and scheduled to appear July 18 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Details of the crash were not provided by police.
