Police say they discovered quickly that the caller actually had phoned from the Greens Farms train station and, when approached there by Westport police, confessed that—for whatever reason—he had told Darien police dispatchers that he had been approached by a “random person,” robbed and needed a ride back home.

A 32-year-old Fairfield man on Sept. 27. The driver, police said, told officers he might have fallen asleep, as he'd been awake for two days. He was charged with driving under the influence, possession of narcotics and reckless driving.

Police say a 42-year-old Bridgeport man to have his wife and children’s power shutoff on Sept. 30. Police discovered this and arrested the man, Erik Spore, after pulling him over for driving without insurance.

A resident who needed his hot tub fixed enlisted the services of a man . The man, who called himself “Jeff,” took cash from the resident for a new hot tub filter. The resident then discovered his old filter was missing and that a new filter was never picked up from Leslie Pool, where Jeff said he had ordered it.

An that started at the old Fitness Edge building on Commerce Drive ended in two arrests and a dip in the Mill River, police said.

Police arrested Eddie Davila, 19, who seemed to be acting as lookout for Luis Sostre, 18, who was also arrested after he tried to escape via the river.

A rebellious resident at the Sullivan McKinney Elder Housing Complex was arrested Tuesday after , police said.

Robert Bell Jr., 67, has been a problem tenant for the complex, according to police. He has been reported by the staff three other times since June.

A social worker at Sullivan McKinney Elder Housing reported to police Wednesday that she has been every day for the past three weeks, police said.

The calls begin with a man discussing credit card rates and then quickly turn to the sexually obscene, police said.

A New Canaan resident told police three plants were taken from her property recently. The catch? The plants had already been planted, and were .

A teaching assistant working at Stamford's Northeast School was earlier this week, and is charged with stealing her teacher's identity and buying merchandise from Victoria's Secret with it.

"One of the teachers that she was assigned to discovered suspicious activity on her credit card," Sgt. Andrew Gallagher of 's Property Crimes Unit said. "Her card was taken from her purse, and cash was taken from her purse."

Numerous charges were for merchandise to be sent to Gore's address, or to pay Ms. Gore's bills," Gallagher said. According to Property Crimes, Gore ordered merchandise from Victoria's Secret, and had it sent to her personal address.

Norwalk Police and medical personnel had been called numerous times to help a 51-year-old Rowayton woman who had .

And then on 4:58 a.m. last Wednesday, a motorist made another call to police about the woman—the last one. She was found on Hunt Street near Steepletop Place, apparently struck by a car, and pronounced dead just over half an hour later. Police are still looking for the car, although they say they aren't sure they would charge the driver, who may not have been able to avoid the woman at the crest of a hill on a dark street.

A 65-year-old Stamford man, driving on a Norwalk street last Sunday must have presented quite a sight to the officer who stopped him. The top part of the vehicle was so bent and damaged that police believe it had been part of a rollover accident, and that 

Looking down, one could see sparks and smoke coming from the tire rims as the vehicle moved along the street—the tires themselves had been blown off.

A Norwalk police officer stopped the car shortly after state police sent out a bulletin for a vehicle that fit the description of this one. After the vehicle was stopped, the man had to be extracted from the car by authorities, because the doors were too bent to open. He was taken to Norwalk Hospital, where he was treated.

A 5-month-old girl had  police said, when her grandparents brought her  into Norwalk Hospital's Emergency Department on Sunday, Sept. 25. In addition, the girl had a fractured skull, arm and seven fractured ribs. Hospital staff notified police who on Sept. 29 arrested the child's 22-year-old Norwalk mother on a warrant charging her with first-degree assault on a minor and risk of injury to a minor, both felonies. An investigation is continuing, and additional charges against another individual or indivuals was possible, police said.
