Wrong Name, Wrong Number Means Arrest for a Motorist

A driver headed onto the Connecticut Turnpike faces a variety of motor vehicle charges after she was stopped by Greenwich Police.

According to a police report, Veronica M. Coyt, 40, who gave an address of 231 Clinton Ave., Bridgeport, is accused of giving police a false name and birth date after she was stopped by officers about 8:10 p.m. Aug. 24, as she entered the Ritch Avenue onramp to the turnpike.

A records check showed Coyt didn't have a license and the vehicle she was driving wasn't registered. She was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating with a suspended license, operating without a license, operating without insurance and interfering with an officer.

After posting a $300 bond, Coyt was scheduled to appear Sept. 4 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
