CDOT to Receive $51 Million in Disaster Relief

The funds will come from two grants awarded through the U.S. Department of Transportation's Emergency Relief Program.

Members of Connecticut’s Congressional Delegation announced Thursday that the state Department of Transportation will receive over $51 million in disaster relief funds to fix roads that were damaged during and , according to The Day.

“These resources will go a long way to restore and rebuild Connecticut after two devastating storms in a row,” the delegation, which includes Sen. Richard Blumenthal, said in a statement. “The funding will provide the resources needed to repair our damaged roads, highways, and infrastructure so Connecticut residents can travel safely.”

According to the released statement, two separate grants were awarded through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Emergency Relief Program. In November, President Obama , including Fairfield County as disaster areas following October's storm.
